A multiple entry visa to Vietnam is a visa that allows the visa holder to enter and leave Vietnam multiple times during the term of your visa. It is also known as a "re-entry visa to Vietnam". This Vietnam visa is very convenient for those who want to have many times to visit Vietnam in a certain period of time.

Types of visas to Vietnam multiple entries

Currently, visas on multiple entries to Vietnam are classified according to the purpose of visiting relatives and visa validity as:

  • 1 month tourist visa;
  • 3-month tourist visa;
  • 1-year tourist visa (for US passport holders only);
  • 1-month business visa;
  • 3-month business visa;
  • 6-month business visa;
  • 1 year business visa;

In addition, overseas Vietnamese, spouse, children of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese citizens can apply for a visa to Vietnam for 5 years multiple entry visa.

How to apply Vietnam vissa multiple entry?

Currently, visitors can have 2 ways to get a multiple entry visa to Vietnam for tourist / business, they are:

  1. Apply for a Vietnam embassy visa;
  2. Apply for a Vietnam visa on arrival.

1. Apply for a Vietnam embassy visa

Usually, the visa application process at Vietnam Embassy includes:

  1. Prepare documents to apply for a visa, including: a completed application, original passport, photo (s), (and letter of guarantee from a company in Vietnam applying for a business visa);
  2. Visit Vietnam Embassy / Consulate to apply and pay visa issuance fee, or send the entire application and visa issuance fee to Vietnam embassy / consulate by post .
  3. Receive the original visa and passport in person at the Vietnamese Embassy / Consulate or return it by post.


This process and the required documents mentioned above are not the same for all Vietnamese Embassies / Consulates abroad. Therefore, we recommend you to contact the Vietnamese embassy to which you are applying for a visa for details.

2. Apply for a Vietnam visa on arrival

The process and documents required to get multiple entry visas on arrival in Vietnam are almost the same. It consists of 3 steps as follows:

  1. Complete the online application form with some information including full name, passport number, passport expiration date and payment of service fee by credit card (no documents required).
  2. Receive visa approval letter via email within a specified period (2 business days for tourist visa or 7 business days for business visa - or faster if you use our Super Rush service I).
  3. Stamp visa upon arrival at Vietnam airport by presenting visa approval letter, 02 passport photos, immigration declaration and stamp fee at VOA counter at Vietnam airport upon landing.


And to be granted multiple entry visas upon arrival in Vietnam, travelers need to have their first entry to Vietnam by air. The following exit and entry can be done by any means of transportation. Note: As of January 1, 2019, 6-month and 1-year multi-entry visas for Vietnam on arrival are not available (except for 1-year multiple entry visas for U.S. passport holders). How much is a Multiple Entry Visa?

Visa fees for multiple entries in Vietnam can vary depending on the method you choose to receive your visa in.

For embassy visa: Vietnam visa application fee depends on the embassy you are applying for. Visa fees are paid ONCE at Vietnam embassy.

For Visa on arrival: the fee depends on the type of visa you are applying for. There are two types of fees you will need to pay: service charge and stamping fee. While the service fee is paid online for getting the visa approval letter, the stamp fee is paid in cash at the Vietnam airport in order to get the visa stamped.
